Director of Crossroads Kids
Part Time
16hrs/week - $14/hour

Job Description:

The Children Director’s position is responsible for overseeing the Crossroads Kids Ministry.  This includes Sunday morning programming, special events, and relationships with the families of Crossroads as well as guests. The children’s ministry covers birth thru 5th grade. 
We are looking for someone who can creatively enhance our children’s church with fresh ideas to keep it both bible-centered and fun.  

The core responsibilities are outlined as:

Curriculum
  • Choose or renew curriculum
  • Organize and provide supplies to classrooms
  • Edit weekly curriculum and distribute to small group leaders for prek/k and elementary
Volunteers
  • Recruit, Train, Schedule & APPRECIATE!
Administrative
  • Manage the children’s ministry budget wisely
  • Create calendar/goals for the year
  • Communicate to church staff, volunteers, parents and community
  • Promote children’s ministry utilizing social media
  • Oversee check-in system
  • Maintain Policy Manual
  • Work with other staff at the church to coordinate with other ministries
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
Events
  • Plan/Oversee and implement church and community events

CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Faithfully practices private worship through quiet time in the Bible
  • An active member of Crossroads Community Church (or becomes one if hired from outside the church)
  • Uphold the doctrine of CCC 
  • Passionate for kids and families
  • Knows how to make sacrifices with a spirit of joy
  • Possess a generous spirit of grace to parents with children who struggle to obey the Lord
  • Demonstrates vulnerability and transparency so that people see God’s grace at work in you
  • Takes the Great Commandment seriously
  • Avoids gossip and slander
  • Loves people through an outgoing friendly personality

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrates leadership by casting a vision for what Crossroads Kids can become and is able to lead people well.
  • Has sufficient administrative competencies so that order is maintained in the ministry
  • Able to speak in front of crowds with growing proficiency
  • Is a team builder
  • Not afraid to have tough conversations with group leaders & parents in truth and love if problems arise to resolve conflict.

Reports to the senior pastor or designated person.
