Marie DeHaas
A licensed independent social worker. She has experience in all forms of mental health treatment, ranging from inpatient to out-patient settings. She specializes in helping pre-adolescents, adults & geriatrics who are experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, transitional and/or traumatic life events, and loss.
She is familiar with cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral treatment as well as the 12 step model. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. There she studied a generalist practice model, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also holds a Master of Science in Social Administration from The Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
There her concentration was in dual diagnosis, graduating Cum Laude. She has practiced in medical, dementia specialty, psychiatric and hospice settings. She is now using her 15 years of experience to help individuals, families and couples suffering from emotional, relational and chemical abuse issues.

Karen has 9 years of experience working with children and their families in community mental health settings at schools and a domestic violence shelter. Karen has a wide rang of experience which includes providing individual counseling with students and individual and group counseling with survivors of domestic violence. With a passion for supporting children and their families through difficult circumstance, Karen offers compassionate and competent support to her clients. She specializes in working with kids struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, family stressors, trauma an grief. Karen works with children in individual sessions and provides family sessions as needed. Karen holds a Bachelors of Science in Education from Malone University and a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Ohio. Leah Fellenstein is currently supervising Karen as she works towards her independent counseling license with the state of Ohio.
